to cast. Anyone can fish those secret spots, just like the worm dunkers sharing those snagging holes with you. Those aren't secret spots, count the empty bait containers and broken folding patio chairs that they leave behind next time your in town. Heck, those folks can't count fish either when it comes to limits. Da ya think I could borrow a fish net like they bring down to the water? Last time I saw a net that big was while ocean fishing. Why not jus put a net across the whole river??

Kinda reminds me of when I was fishing in BC in them rain forests- that would be an active logging concern to you. Luckily for us, the Sakorskies had just shutdown for the season. What's that for, selective harvesting? Found out later that lumber prices had dropped so low, that the only way to make money was by production harvesting. You cut down enough trees, your bound to make a dollar. Remember, it is only a renewable resource north of us. The husband got out of commercial fishing along the inland passage cause it went all to $hit and thought tourism/lodging would make him more money. Now, they were completely off the grid with diesel generator and all. Power was off by 10 PM, so you better have a flashlight with you. Looked like something out Kesey's "Sometimes a Great Notion". The poor wife was all for it, living along a radio controlled 20 mph logging road and catering to fishermen. I still recall her saying, "Living in California, don't you ever get tired of seeing the sun out every day? I enjoy seeing the mist in the trees after a good rain." My reply was, "You really don't get out much, do you?" Can you imagine what she would say to a fella from Arizona?

Happy turkey day to ya, Bruce. I still enjoy your posts and all of the flack you get from envious folks. Heck, they're not posting, might as well read your stuff.

You left out mentioning beads, jigs and huge honkin' indicators, Gitt.

Oh Hell, another season passed us by without our wetting a line together.

I have a new raincoat not so I don't look like a 160 pound tomato anymore!

A steelhead fly fisherman needs two qualities:
A strong casting arm and a room temperature IQ.
